A look at the overall process from start to completion.

1. Preliminary sketch utilizing Prismacolor in varying degrees of lightest gray to charcoal, white, and a colorless blender pencil. I always do a ‘dummy’ --a sketch version test-- of any art I intend to do on canvas. It’s not necessary, but it’s something I like to do to see if there’s any changes I might want to make, corrections, etc. before I go forward w/ paints,

2. I’ve begun to add color here; fleshing out his face, hair, and shirt.

3. He’s getting deadlier *lol* Close-up on the finished painting.

4. Ultra close-up on the eyes because I really am pleased at how they turned out for me in this piece and wanted you to have a good look.

This Windowknockeresque portrayal of the Deadman is one I’ve been working on since early June. It will be featured in the county fair ‘Access the Arts Western New York’. Acrylics w/ a light linseed coat. This will be the first example of ‘Kane the Undertaker’ I’ve done on canvas since Altar Of Illusions’s ‘Portrait Of Eternity’ (1997)
