Welcome to the Manhattan Project, Doctor Brown...
‘Looking For A Few Good Scientists’ WIP; inks on 1 of 2 cover pieces that I did in relation to the 1943 story arc of Doc Brown’s involvement in the Manhattan Project written by BTTF creator, Bob Gale for IDW comics #1. I started working the rough sketches for this particular illustration back around the holidays and it’s a good thing that I did step away from the desk for a bit there because I realized how much I didn’t care for his face in that first version and so I redid it. Haste makes waste, my friends. Remember that. Golden rule = Never be afraid to walk away from the easel.
Little note, the security sign is in fact based upon a real WW2 era security posted sign ...Details, details. IDW Publishing comics (Back To The Future #1 - 1943) A young Emmett Brown arrives @ Los Alamos. Copic multiliners
